Yo Yo Girl Cop: Quick Takes

Who knew that what I yell to my girl as police approach while she’s “doing a job” at the bank would be the title of a Japanese film! Er...what? Did I say that? If you’ve seen some of the newer action movies coming out of Japan, you have a pretty good idea of what to expect here. There’s the mandatory fight scene between two hottie school girls all flailing about yelling stuff like “Ow…that really hurt” and “No way!” Then there’s the scene when the enigmatic, reclusive main character begrudgingly becomes BFF with the kinda weak, lame character. OMG! Oh, can’t forget the scene when one character tells another that (s)he REALLY likes him/her, only to have the recipient of said love say something crazy like “If you really like me…you’ll blow yourself and the school up with this custom bomb I’ve made for you to wear around your belt” or something like that. Anyway, the movie is ultimately entertaining, kinda stupid, and worth a watch. It’s no “For Your Height Only” or anything, but I ain’t mad at it.
