Sol Kyung-Gu returns in a thematic rehash of his previous "Public Enemy," again directed by Kang Woo-Suk. Whereas in the first film he played a corrupt police officer, here he plays a scrupulously honest public prosecutor with command over a number of police officers (who may or may not all be honest). Again he pursues a criminal with a good reputation and powerful contacts, and again he is relentless in seeking justice. I gave both films a rating of ****1/2, but this is not quite so impressive as the first film - call that one ****3/4.

"Another Public Enemy" is a slightly above average crime drama.

I was impressed with most of the performances, especially as I was unfamiliar with most of the cast. Kang Woo-Suk’s direction is relatively simple, but good. This is a relatively tired story of a cop trying to catch a rich criminal, who gets increasingly frustrated with the loopholes of the legal system. There are two good fights early on, choreographed by Jung Doo-Hong, the best of which is at a restaurant. Unfortunately, there’s little action after that, except a good quick car stunt scene and a disappointing finale.

This film was good, but went on for way too long and offered too little new to the genre.

I just have to say I love the first "Public Enemy". It was witty and it had nice action brawls. I got the 2nd "Public Enemy" because I heard there was a third one coming out and I am a completist.

"Another Public Enemy" is a bad film, losing the excitement and attitude of the first. It was odd too me that we lost that appeal because we basically have the same stars and director. The story changed a bit: we now get Detective Kang as prosecuter Kang chasing the bad guys. The movie is a 143 minutes of pure dullness with no action for bonus. We do get some light laughs from three convicts, but other than that all we get is a thin plot, no thrills, light comedy and a complete waste of time. Well there is still hope for "Public Enemy 3".
