| Overview: | In CLINT THE STRANGER, also widely known as CLINT THE NEVADA'S LONER, Martin plays Clint Harrison, a gunfighter who has been on the run from vengeful family for years. He returns to his home town to discover that his wife (Marianne Koch of FISTFUL OF DOLLARS fame) has taken his son and fled north to escape his unsavory reputation. Following her in an attempt to make amends, he rides into the middle of a land-grab war between a group of desperate farmers and an unscrupulous rancher named Shannon (Walter Barnes from THE BIG GUNDOWN) and his brutal foreman (the always reliable Fernando Sancho). Promising his wife that won't use his gun, Clint must stand by as Shannon's men eliminate the farmers in a series of well-staged set pieces calculated to make the audience anticipate the inevitable I 4 moment when Clint is forced to turn to his guns and settle accounts.
Fast-paced and action-packed, CLINT THE STRANGER is the work of prolific Spanish director Alfonso Balcazar, who helmed ten Spaghetti Westerns and co-scripted two of the genres best (A PISTOL FOR RINGO and THE RETURN OF RINGO). Nora Orlandi, who voiced the cantatas on ONCE UPON A TIME...IN THE WEST and many others, composed the sedately majestic score and the moody cinematography is the contribution of Victor Monreal (FIVE GIANTS FROM TEXAS).
