I have seen this film one other time. I always come to the same conclusion: honor the past, respect the future. Change will leave its mark on both.

I was not expecting such a good or informative film. Not only was it a great action movie, but it explained a lot of the history of the time, and who the Shinsengumi were. It was further enhanced with some of the top actors. The action was real--not enhanced wirework, but more down to earth. Very good, and I wish there were more like this.
