A decidedly grim sci-fi gore fest very much in the vein of "Tetsuo: The Man Of Iron". This is not the kind of neat, clean sci-fi that comes from America. This has a very dirty industrial feel to it. I think the lower budget helps, especially with the scientist whose gear is all very jury-rigged--it gives it a certain real quality to it. "Dead or Alive" meets "Tetsuo". The plot is basic and the acting won't win any awards, but the film is a fast-paced gorefest which hooks the viewer, and as the carnage becomes more intense so the viewer is reeled in. If you can overlook the film's shortcomings and focus on its exhuberant violence--including close-ups to make you cringe--it is a worthwhile piece of popcorn (and ketchup) entertainment. | | LOG IN TO COMMENT ON THIS REVIEW! |
