Again adapting a novel by Ruth Rendell (whose "A Judgment In Stone" became "La Ceremonie"), Chabrol is at the peak of his craft. Senta is playe dby Laura Smet, who was so impressive in Xavier Giannoli's "Eager Bodies" and she is also, incidentally the daughter of Nathalie Baye and Johnny Hallyday. Philippe is played by Benoit Magimel ("The Piano Teacher", "The Flower Of Evil") and arguably one of the finest actors of his generation.
