If you ever wanted to see what Godzilla would do to feudal Japan, here is your chance. "Daimajin" starts off as a fairly standard feudal Japanese story of the evil master overthrowing the good master and trying to kill his family, but the loyal retainer spirits the two children away to safety to get revenge and save the kingdom. Yeah, it's pretty standard, but the twist is the giant rock god Majin who takes his sweet time getting going. He doesn't appear until the last 15 minutes, but when he does it is good town-smashing fun as his vengeance is let loose upon those with evil in their hearts. While I would have preferred more Majin and less stock feudal Japanese tale, it is unique and rather fun. | | LOG IN TO COMMENT ON THIS REVIEW! |
