Strictly speaking of martial arts and action value, this movie is way below Shaw standards. Li Li Hua and Chia Chuang are not great wuxia stars and it shows. Li Ching is okay and played in a few wuxia movies, but is not of the same caliber as Cheng Pei Pei or Shih Szu so it shows in the action. The fights are slow and each move is so predictable. And there is not much action here. No enough for a martial arts movie. Sets and costumes are great as with most Shaw movies. But if you are looking for a good old school Shaw swordsplay flick, this one is not for you. |
