Always been a fan of transgressive cinema, yet this was my first pink film, and given what I had read about the subject matter, I was expecting to hate it. Instead, both my wife and I were riveted to the screen. We were absolutely stunned to find our initial shock and repulsion offset by the film's beauty and eroticism. It didn't change our moral opinions (or our sex lives!), but it did change our ideas regarding the need to erect boundaries on film, fantasy and art. Or, I suppose you could say it freed our minds of a certain hypocritical, self-imposed, bondage. |
