Plot:	Seeking solitude in a remote forest, a detective is confronted by a sinister tree that evokes both wonder and fear. Torn between the forces seeking to protect the tree and those intent upon its destruction, Yakusho begins to lose his grip on reality.
Overview:	Yabuike, a hostage negotiator suffering from a personal crisis, is sent on forced vacation to a strange wooded region - where he discovers a community of crazy opinionated people dominated by the wicked, all-pervasive emanations of a godlike tree named "Charisma"! As in Kurosawa's other genre-defying thrillers, humankind learns to co-exist with occult terror, and rational thought proves it's not all it's cracked up to be.
