The great swordplay choreography is undermined somewhat by some over-dramatic acting and a completely transparent plot. Still worth it for swordplay fans.

A must-have for fans of early seventies swordplay films. Joseph Kuo's direction is assured and on a higher technical level than much of what was being filmed in Taiwan at the time.

The melodrama is a bit overdone but the visuals are well conceived and the fight choreography ahead of its time. Worth the time for fans of the older wuxia movies.
