| I don't get it. How in the hell can Godzilla get his ass kicked by a moth and two silk worms? HUH? Granted, he did end up killing Mothra, but how is it that he can be defeated by two silk worms? All Godzilla had to do was grab Mothra Jr. by the tail and smash his head into a rock and watch his bloody entrails splatter all over the place. But no, instead Godzilla jumped up and down and clapped his claws like a moron as Mothra Jr. wrapped him up in a cocoon and he fell into the ocean. God, it was agitating.
Well, now that my disturbed childhood nostalgia is out of the way, let's talk coherence here. I loved Godzilla as a kid, and somehow I can still find a sense of infatuation with the big lizard as of today. This is indeed one of the better Godzilla films.
Its story remains true to the whole tradition of Godzilla crushing and killing everything in Japan. The film contains a moth, two silk worms, cheap effects, horrible acting, and those two insipid, insufferable singing female twin brownies or whatever they are called.
In conclusion: classic Godzilla happiness for all who like this stuff! |
