Technical Notes:The Valiant Ones

This is the only dvd version of this film that I've been able to find anywhere (HKFlix - you ROCK). The picture is vhs quality and not adjusted for widescreen, but this does very little to detract from all the awesome fight scenes. The subtitles are about the funniest I've come across. They are pretty good and easily comprehensible, but the translator was clearly an Oriental wannabe Gangsta comedian. The odd little comic jem crops up.
This DVD has imbedded Japanese subtitles. If you turn on the English subtitles, they are displayed on top of the Japanese subtitles. Luckily, since the English subtitles are yellow with a black outline, they are perfectly easy to read.
