 | | | | | The Dragon Dynasty DVD is presented in an Anamorphic aspect ratio of 2:35:1. The film print is quite good considering it's over 20 years old. There is no film damage but is a bit grainy, has some artifacts, and is evenly textured with nothing too distracting. Some scenes could use a color boost but look accurate and passable. Details are sharp and black levels are deep without loss of image. This is the best "Police Story" will look on DVD. The soundtracks are clean and clear. The Cantonese tracks sound similar and the English track sounds the best, being clearer and more pronounced than the Cantonese track, with a broader spectrum of sound. |

The Dragon Dynasty DVD version features a clean remastered version (not the best I've seen). Dolby Digital sound was very good and the subtitles were clear, error free, and easy to follow. Special features include:
- Commentary with Brett Ratner and Bey Logan
- Rare deleted scenes
- Conversation with Jackie Chan about the movie (10 mins 20 sec)
- A tribute to Jackie Chan by Brett Ratner and Bey Logan (6 mins 13 secs)
- Stunts Unlimited: movie discussion and insight from 3 stuntmen: Mars, Benny Lai (member from 79-90), and Fung Hak-On (79-89). This was a very informative piece from the celebrated Jackie Chan stunt team (aka Sing Ga Ban which was derived from Jackie's real name). Each stuntman shared their experiences and provided behind the scenes info about the stuntwork from the movie (34 mins 6 sec).
- Trailer Gallery - Original movie trailer, US promo trailer, and Kill Zone US promo trailer (Also included is The Protector, Kill Zone, and Feast, when the DVD is inserted into a DVD player and viewed for the first time)

 | | | | This DVD is the best of ALL Police Story DVDs. Not only is it uncut with the original language, but there are extended openings and endings (with alternate outtakes), deleted scenes, and interviews! There is also a "deleted scenes" montage that will play itty bitty pieces of deleted footage. I think Dragon Dynasty will finally give American companies a good name in martial arts DVDs. Let's hope they'll do the same with Police Story 2 and any other film they release. |
