 | | | | Gritty and dark, this film perhaps works better on VCD or VHS as the lower quality transfer helps with the presentation. This DVD, however, is a fine transfer--finally. |

 | | | | | Subtitles were more literate than usual and well done. The dubbed version was well done too. |

 | | | | This is the first time, to my knowledge, that this artsy-action film has been released in its original Cantonese language WITH English subtitles. Fans of this Tsui Hark artsy-action movie have waited a long time! |

 | | | | The best BLADE disc I've ever seen. A fine replacement for the old Tai Seng disc of several years ago. 16:9 widescreen with large, easy-to-read subtitles, and best of all, the film is presented in its 100-minute entirety, with no missing footage. This disc is highly recommended. You'll never need another upgrade!! |

 | | | | | Can't beat [HKFlix's] price for this DVD. I wish the picture quality was better, but after reading some other reviews apparently this is the best on the market for an NTSC release. Definitely recommended. |

 | | | | | This version of "The Blade" is the DVD you want to get! The picture is a lot better than the previous releases! Much clearer and better looking than any of the other releases. It's in 1:85:1 aspect ratio with easy to read and well written removable subtitles in English or Chinese. |
