I'll try to keep this short. If you like (historical) dramas and war movies, check this movie out. The costumes and landscapes are beautiful, the acting (insofar as I can tell) is solid and convincing, and there are a few battle scenes in there too.
I don't think that it is an extraordinarily great war film, or drama for that matter; but, it is an entertaining movie. The political trickery of intra and inter-tribal alliances, the fight for survival on the wintry steppe and the budding relationship between Tiemuzhen and Bo'ertie is engaging and keeps the plot moving.
There's no kung-fu or wirework, but the battle scenes are handled fairly well.
In closing: an entertaining movie if you like historical drama, worth checking out. |
