The fighting is fairly good, probably - the cinematography is so poor that it's hard to tell. The writing, direction and acting are below average. There is no substantial connection between this and the three other films I know of which dub themselves "Iron Monkey" - not in characters, personalities or even time period.

It's pretty bad.

Some good fights, an average Donnie film, they fast paced fight too much, so it look really fake, but still good!

Well what can I say? This movie was crap. This is Donnie Yen's worst movie. At least some of the fight scenes were exceptionally good. But still not even worth your time.

I loved "Iron Monkey", and was happy to find this gem; but when I got home, it was nothing close to what I expected. While very entertaining at first, the action takes a backseat to a plot involving evil Russians trying to steal priceless antiques (or some equivalently cliche HK movie plot), with nothing close to the action content you would want.

As in [other] reviews I believe this film was also missing some elements more into the characters per say the plot was a little out of touch. And by that I mean it was not well put together. I felt this film was done a little too quickly and felt it needed some more thought and time. I liked the fight scenes obviously but it lacks the other elements of a great martial arts film.

I watched the first Iron Monkey before watching this. To say I was disappointed is an understatement. This has nothing to with the first one and its very crap!!!

Donnie, man! What are you doing????

I enjoyed the first film but this is a terrible film and should never be associated with the first film. Poor, poor. Where were the smooth, silky, Donnie-style fight scenes from the first film?
