| I really loved this movie. It was an amazing murder mystery in the old school style. It had it all: inheritance, feuding family members, mysterious masked men, alluring beauties in peril, a rough around the edges police commissioner rushing to wrong conclusions, and a shaggy know-it-all who must save the day and find the culprit.
Fantastic from start to finish, I never realized it was two and a half hours long until the movie was over and I saw the clock. Scant few movies out there can so easily make me lose track of time, but this one did. Unfortunately for me it is too often movies drag like they have boat anchors tied to them, but this one moved along at an excellent skip and took me for a wonderfully old school ride.
They don't make enough these kind of awesome murder mysteries and it is a true shame. If you love murder mysteries at all, you will find something to enjoy in this film. Highly recommended. |
