This is a very interesting DVD on a hidden seldom seen aspect of Chinese martial arts -one that is very seldom taught. I remember one night after practice listening to a Shaolin master talk about defense from guns. He said "If the gun is not pointed at you and you are close- you have a chance, if it is farther away and leveled at you- hard to get them even with a Fei Biao". Sifu, one of the students asked, " Do you know how to throw Fei Biao?" "No" said the teacher. I think he knew quite well...

Quite interesting, the many type of flying weapons used by the Shaolin Master on the "Hidden Weapons" dvd. Bicycle spokes, Iron chop stick, flying stars, stones. All are propelled with the whole body 'whip' power asociated with high levels of Chinese martial arts. The end of the whip is the wrist. The various flying weapons are delivered with great force.

If you are interested in Chinese flying weapons, you may enjoy this DVD very much. And you could learn something from it- if you want to practice the Chinese flying darts.

My Background: I am a 6th degree Black Belt, and active instructor, and competitive Hawk thrower I have been in Martial Arts since 1975.

This is part of a series of tapes starring the amazing Shi Debiao, a weapons master of unbelievable skill. In this double disc set, he illustrates one of the rarest of esoteric Kung Fu styles-Hidden Weapons. And though it is an esoteric system, Debiao goes out of his way to emphasize the real applications of these methods. It is a combination of throwing skills (he employs a very loose wristed, snappy throwing style, but he shows it from underhand, overhand, and transverse, or "frisbee" methods), the ability to use everyday items as weapons (chopsticks, screwdrivers, scissors, hatchets, bicycle spokes), specialized weapons (various throwing knives and stars, chemical and flexible weaponry), and these are all applied in order to either close the gap in order to move in, or to get away.

Debiao is able to stick a regular wooden chopstick INTO a wooden target. Pretty impressive.

Highly recommended for anyone into throwing weapons of any kind.
