Plot:	Kika is a Madrid makeup artists whose relationship with Ramon leads to criminal schemes involving her maid Juana, Juana's criminal brother Pablo, and Ramon's youth-obsessed father. Overseeing all is the muckraking reality TV presenter Andrea Scarface.
Overview:	Harshly treated by critics on release, "Kika" is perhaps the film in Almodovar's career that most benefits from a second viewing. The story of Kika (Veronica Forque), a Madrid makeup artists whose relationship with Ramon (Alex Casanovas) leads to criminal schemes involving her maid Juana (Rossy De Palma), Juana's criminal brother Pablo (Santiago Lajusticia), and Ramon's youth-obsessed father (Peter Coyote). Overseeing all is the muckraking reality TV presenter Andrea Scarface (Victoria Abril, sporting an outrageous Jean-Paul Gaultier wardrobe). Attracting controversy for a scene in which Kika's rape at the hands of Pablo is depicted with humorous detachment, the moment has since come to be seen as further evidence of the director's belief in the power of women.
