An interesting film that I suppose started the Yagyu Clan Conspiracy TV series, which I enjoyed immensely.
However, in this film, as you watch the plot unfold, you get the unsettling feeling that the bad guys are winning, with the hero Yagyu Jubei and a scores of others unwittingly being used by Jubei's treacherous father. There are massive battles and elaborate scenes of court rituals along the way, making it a historical epic on a grand scale, and it all leads up to a truly shocking conclusion. |
