I could go into the symbolism of the Squid for the outsider in all of us, but I won't, because this movie is just plain fun. Pro wrestling is inherently melodramatic, and the movie really captures the true spirit of pro wrestling perfectly, with a certain oddball hilarity in a man turning into a squid to continue wrestling. OH-MY-GOD!! This film is simply brilliant. It's like what happens when you smoke a joint the size of Led Zeppelin and then go watch the ocean, and then have a fever dream. I don't want to spoil it for you, but suffice to say, if you want to take a trip to WTF Land, then this is your one way ticket to the mayor's house.
