All About Ah Long All Content Used With Permission. ![]() ![]() One of Chow Yun-Fat's best movies. An almost overly dramatic story but very believable. The flashback scenes add a nice touch to the movie. -VF40457 (see my profile) ![]() Not one dull moment goes by in this powerful drama starring some of the best talent in the business including Chow-Yun Fat, Sylvia Chang, Mang Tat Wu and a gifted little actor named Kwan Yuen Wong - let me tell you, this is one kid who deserves something beyond an Oscar. "All About Ah-Long" tells the story of Ah-Long, a hardworking, single father of a little boy named "Porky". Ah-Long and Porky are more than just father and son - they're best friends of a different kind. Both their lives are drastically changed when someone "important" from the past walks into their lives: Sylvia Chang. As the plot unfolds, all three characters have to make a decision that will change the rest of their lives. Touching, romantic, tragic and unforgettable. Don't miss this one. -City On Fire (see my profile) ![]() A heartrending melodrama mostly about a father and son relationship. The plot also focuses on the redemption of Chow's title character and his reconciliation with the mother of his child. The ending comes totally out of left field. 7/10 -Hellboy Above average weepy, enlivened by a good script, solid characters, and good acting, very good for its type. I liked it more than Kramer vs. Kramer. Ah-Long (Chow) has raised his son Porky since he was released from prison 8 years ago. When Porky's mother Por-Por (Chang) returns to HK, she unknowingly recruits 10 year old Porky for an ad campaign, when she meets Ah-Long and learns about Porky, she wants him back. -Meixner
