ALTERNATE SYNOPSIS:
Country living doesn't turn out quite like this dysfunctional family had hoped for in this riotous black comedy from Kim Ji-woon ("A Tale of Two Sisters", "The Foul King")!

When the Kang family opens a mountain lodge, their ambitions for establishing a haven of calm are soon dashed by the death of their first guest. The family decides to bury the body to avoid damaging the new hotel's reputation, but before long they're welcoming more guests, who also end up dying one by one!

With a superb cast that includes Choi Min-sik from "Oldboy", "The Quiet Family" is not only the inspiration for Takeshi Miike's "The Happiness of the Katakuris", but it's also a macabre comedy that straddles the very fine line between horror and humor.
