First of all, I think I should point out that this is not an action movie, more of a drama, like JSA. Two childhood friends become navy divers, and both fall in love with the same woman. When Shin Hyeon Jun (from the excellent Guns and Talks and Bichunmoo) realises his best mate had feelings for her before him, he backs off, even though the girl has fallen for him. She leaves for England, leaving the two buddies to continue being the best divers in the Navy. Stormclouds gather on the horizon, however, when the girl returns as their superior officer, and her ambitious boss begins to put the diving team in increasingly dangerous situations.
Basically, this is Men of Honour mixed with the drama of Pearl Harbour, but with more engaging characters, humour and emotion. The only thing i felt let the movie down was the film score, which is a little limp and predictable. |
