It's hard to put this movie in any one category, being as how it has elements of just about everything from horror, war, romance, drama, martial arts, and a touch of sci-fi. How a movie like this can be so good is truly amazing. The fighting, from large scale battles to the one-on-one encounters, is done very well. Although there is some flying, it's not done over the top. This movie is truly well done and a must-see for any fan of Asian cinema, wuxia or horror. I deducted points only for the water CGI effects that don't look to good.
But other than that everything in this movie is top notch filmmaking. But be warned it's very sad. so pull your girlfriend close and grab a box of Kleenex, 'cause it's not every day that a movie has enough to satisfy everyone's taste, male or female. |
