Overview:	This landmark motion picture is not only the first ever colour film shot in Japan, but it also ranks as one of the most successful comedies the country has ever produced. When the daughter, Carmen, of one of the townsmen, Aoyama Shoichi, decides that she will be returning to her hometown for a visit, her father becomes very angry, remarking that he never knew he has a daughter with a foreign name. Years ago, Carmen left for Tokyo to become a famous dancer. The townspeople have only heard about her celebrity but don't really have an idea of how famous she is. When the fact that she is a high-class exotic dancer comes to light, scandal erupts. This crowd-pleasing musical satire enables Kinoshita to lovingly ogle the majestic scenery with his camera.
