Probably my favorite film by Ozu, and the only one I've had the pleasure of watching in a actual cinema (this was the only film by Ozu that ever received commercial distribution here in Portugal. I saw it at a film festival). All of its themes are here: generation gap, changes in society, loneliness, and the separation of the family, treated with its trademark style, honed almost to perfection!

Undoubtedly, one of the best films ever!!!
