| Garuda has become a huge hit in Thailand..The films popularity has raised a few eyebrows in Asia as well as here in America. Could Garuda reach the US market? Only time will tell? Hopefully the film will reach us here in the States in the near future.
The film's monster is the legenday "Garuda" that was once worshipped as a God in Thailand. Subway tunneling in Bangkok awakens the the monster who hides in the underground caverns. The daughter of the scientist who first discovered proof of the creatures existance, Lena is brought in to aide the military in destroying Garuda. What folows is pretty much standard monster film action very similar to films made in Japan or the United States. Above average special effects are said to be the films highlight.

- Reportedly many people in Thailand were upset about the films title and moster. In Thailand the Garuda is viewed as a holy sacred creature. The filmakers were under public pressure and change the name of the monster to save face during production.
