HKFlix Says: 2.5 Stars
Nick Cheung again finds himself surrounded by B-actors wading through a bland and meandering script. His uniquely hilarious brand of comedy does come through in several spots, but we're still anxiously awaiting the movie that will give him his chance to shine.

Plot:"The Doomer" is the unluckiest guy on Earth. He teams up with Spring, a big-shot gambler who doesn't ever lose, and together they win every gambling competition they enter. But a rival gambler catches onto their scheme and sends his goons after them.
Overview:Funny man Nick Cheung plays Lee Kai Shing, AKA "The Doomer", the unluckiest guy on the face of the Earth. Constantly getting injured, and bringing misfortune and suffering to those who are kind to him, he keeps mostly to himself. However, after his latest failed suicide attempt, he winds up in the hospital, where he falls in love with a nurse named Summer. She accepts him for the accident-prone dork that he is, and inspires him to continue living.

Summer's brother Spring (Stephen Fung) is a big shot gambler who almost never loses. When Spring meets The Doomer and learns that he can never win--and by never, we mean NEVER--he realizes that they can team up to win any gambling competition they enter. By betting opposite of whatever Doomer bets, he's sure to win every time.

The Doomer quickly rises among the ranks of the gambling underworld, earning fame and fortune as Spring's gambling partner. But when a rival gambler, Brother 9, catches onto their scheme, he quickly gets involved and tries to kill them both with the aid of his femme fatale, Sauna (think Tia Carrerre in "True Lies"). And Doomer's girlfriend begins to lose interest in the new Doomer, now that he's making his living by gambling and taking advantage of others.

Things all come to a head when Brother 9 goes on a rampage and kills all Spring's men, and sends assassins to murder Spring and Doomer as well. The two must somehow survive the whole ordeal and live to beat Brother 9 and reveal him as the treacherous villain he is at the upcoming "Gamble Billionaire" competition. But Brother 9 has plenty of tricks up his sleeve, and this is one gambling competition that even Spring and Doomer may not be able to win...
