 | | | | They weren't kidding. The title gives it away, but even though you know it's coming, you'll still be reduced to a weeping heap. It's sad with no apologies. It's sad because you like the characters the entire way through the movie. It's sad because it's engineered that way. It was effective and I guess I liked it, but my only wish was that the ending had at least resolved every story told... I also thought one scene in particular was a little cheesey and forced (still effective though). See it with a box of Kleenex. | | LOG IN TO COMMENT ON THIS REVIEW! |

 | | | | This was a surprising movie....for me, I'm more the blood and guts gory movie kind of guy myself, but Sad Movie is one of those sleeper hits just witing in the wings. If you are a guy and looking for a movie both you and your lady can watch together this is it. This film has comdey for the guys and melodrama for the women. | | LOG IN TO COMMENT ON THIS REVIEW! |

 | | | | Well-acted ensemble drama/comedy that is contrived and manipulative in parts (i.e. the ending "fire" scene and story beween mother and son) Still, it succeeds on an intelligent script--for this kind of melodrama genre-- based on miscommunication, disconnection, fear, and longing. It would have been taken more seriously worldwide had the actors been a tad older, the lighting darker, and the music more serious. a simplistic but still entertaining and moving film. | | LOG IN TO COMMENT ON THIS REVIEW! |
