| Two young men, Fung and Wan, have been hired as assistant artists for a major comic book company. Fung meets Mandy the day of his interview and feels an attraction towards her. However, Fung feels that the comic books have the same old stuff and wants to create something new. Fung decides to come up with the artwork while Wan creates the stories. At first, sales are poor, but they get more popular. Lo is afraid their books will become more popular than his own and decides that they should work for them. The two however decide to form their own company and they become popular. However, Mandy comes between the two friends as they both fall for her. The three of them rely on their own creations to think about what they are doing, especially after Wan writes his own book.
A funny comedy with a great cast, including popular musicians Eason Chan and Nicholas Tse. Julian Cheung, who in 1998, released some action films, takes a big step towards the comic circuit. However, his character is more in seriousness. The actor who played Lo, the owner of Big Empore, was totally hysterical. The camera would always zoom in on his face and it is quite funny with the faces he makes. Ruby Lin is the object of Eason and Julian's desires, yet she looks so plain in the film. Nicholas Tse gets 2 roles in this film as two comic characters. He even fights...Himself?! A short little fight as the chracters go against each other for their creators. Anyway, this is a cute little comedy piece and if you want some fun but not too much action...you could do worse. |
