30 years after a dedicated band of warriors from the Baekje Dynasty travel to Japan in hopes of mending the broken Heaven's Sword and restoring Baekje to its former glory, the only surviving warrior vows to complete the task.
Overview:
Saulabi opens with the fall of the Paekje Kingdom in the year 600 AD. In front of the mortuary tablet of the late Paekje King Ui-Duk, warriors commit suicide by disembowelment and civil ministers drink poison. 450 years later, seventeen warriors dedicated to the restoration of the Paekje Kingdom cross over to a settlement in Nangosan, with the intention of restoring the "spirit sword." Attacked by samurais, only two survive with the ancient books detailing how to restore the spirit sword. The two survivors, Hwang Choong-hyun and Go Dong-yeon, work to restore the sword, but Go Dong-yeon falls in love with a shaman and abandons his quest. Temporarily losing his reason, Hwang kills both Go and the shaman. Meanwhile, Goudo also hopes to find a means to restore the sword, but he falls in love with Osame, a Japanese woman who is betrothed to the feudal lord of Oto Castle. She flees with Goudo on the day before her wedding, but the lord's henchmen pursue the couple and track them down. A bloody battle ensues, in which the descendents of the Paekje Kingdom are targeted by Japanese elites.
