A Robin Hood tale with a twist! Ding takes upon himself to rob the Japanese so as to help the poor Taiwanese because he witnessed his mother being killed by Japanese soldiers when he was a boy.
Overview:
When the Japanese invade Taiwan, Liu is only 12 years old, and learning martial arts with his troupe. After the invasion, the troupe is disbanded, and Liu turns to gambling to earn a living. Several years later, he meets a prostitute named Ying, and the two decide to help the poor by robbing the rich. However, their actions are noticed by the Japanese, and a group is sent out to capture them. On the run, Liu and Ying hide in her home village, but who can they trust, as their pursuers close in?
