Early Jimmy Wang Yu movie. Old school plot of a clan who wants to rule all other clans with the help of the magic lute. JWY looks a bit amateurish here. Ivy Ling Po plays her role of the Scarlet Maid. Overall the action, mostly swordsplay, is just a bit above average. Sometime the story drags. This is one of the earlier Shaw wuxia movies (1966) and it shows. The fights are sometime a bit slow. Worth watching once. You'll notice that the action is much more sharp in the Shaw movies after 1968.
