While Cecilia Cheung was good in this, Lau Ching-Wan was wonderful. Lau plays the epitome of nice guys while Cecilia plays the naive woman who is suddenly thrust into more than she could ever handle. The story was complex and thought-provoking, with fine acting all around. The script seemed to dig itself bigger holes than it could patch up in two hours from so many complex emotions and situations. Although the dynamic between the characters gives you the feeling that everything will work out for the best as long as they have each other. Yes, it is a chick flick but worth a look. |
