| I try not to be too critical about movies, but everyone has to draw the line somewhere.
While this isn't the worst movie I've seen, it does nothing to impress. The story itself starts out plausible: a Doctor (Karen Mok) whose pilot fiancee died during a rescue in Tibet travels back to the remote areas to save a politician with a heart condition. Unfortunately, it goes downhill from there. You never connect emotionally with any of the characters and you wonder why some characters are even in the movie. If you actually make it through to the end of the film, it slips competely from reality.
The spastic special effects remind me of "Transformers", where you couldn't really tell what was going on. Not to mention the cartoonish CGI. It comes across as a low budget attempt to make a Chinese "Cliffhanger" or "Whiteout".
Even Karen Mok (whom I really like) can't save this movie. If you want a decent snow-covered adventure movie, try "Whiteout". |
