Better than I expected, though falls into soap opera in the relationship between father and son. However Jun is really the standout character and there is lots of depth, and some really lovely scenes where she is involved. Tying reality to fantasy for kids this age is perfect and also underscores the difficulty in dealing with some very harsh situations for the kids. The robot is not too cute and very believable and well integrated into the human characters.
