| The newly remastered DVD from Mega Star comes in anamorphic widescreen 1.85:1 and with Dolby Digital 5.1 and DTS 5.1 in Cantonese and Dolby Digital 2,0 in Mandarin with optional English subs.
The print looks good for a 1988 film, but it could have been done better. There are still speclles and dropouts throughout the film, but it's not too disrtracting.
The Dolby and DTS tracks are okay, except that the dialogue is split to all speakers. The DTS track is only louder compared to the Dolby version. The Mandarin track is presented in the original mono mix and sounds good. It's sad that Mega Star didn't put the originial mono track in Cantonese on the DVD.
In the bonus section we get a Trailer.
At the moment the best version to get, altough purists will miss the original mono track |
