Five years after "Heaven Sword and Dragon Sabre 2" comes this wuxia swordplay extravaganza. It's a bit less focused than HS&DS1 & 2, but well cast and acted. Derek Yee is an engaging swordplay star, and it's always good to see Ti Lung. It's helpful but far from necessary to have seen the previous entries in the series.

This is an enjoyable Wuxia fantasy, but slightly less coherent than the two previous entries in the series. I don't think it is essential to have seen those films in order to enjoy this. Five years had gone by and this was more of an all-star extravaganza than a focused Yuen Chor film. Derek Yee and Ti Lung are both very appealing, and I do recommend the film.
