Allen Fong Yuk Ping, one of Hong Kong's most distringuished directors, was thrice Best Director of the Hong Kong Film Awards for "Father And Son" (1981), "Ah Ying" (1983), and "Just Like Weather" (1986)--a record that is yet to be broken to this day. A filmmaker at the forefront of Hong Kong's "new wave" cinema, six of the dramas he directed early in his career for "Below The Lion Rock" are now presented in this collection, which showcases his unadorned and deeply moving, structurally exquisite style.
