Bangkok Dangerous All Content Used With Permission. ![]() ![]() This Thai action film from Hong Kong directing brothers Danny and Oxide Pang is a departure from their usual output of horror films. It features a decent amount of well-polished action, as well as a fairly well-written script and a good performance from lead actor Palawit Mongkolpasit. The action isn't delivered with quite the panache of most Hong Kong films, or other Thai films Ong-Bak and Tom-Yum-Goong, but then again the film focuses heavily on the story aspect as well as the action. Overall though I'd say that it's certainly worth a purchase and I doubt that the U.S. remake will be as good. ![]()
![]() SPOILERS. This film is cool. I love the part where Joe is training Kong. But why did they both have to die? Joe was so cool and Kong could have gotten out alive easily if only Fon had got there earlier. Great film, one of my all-time fave movies. Great plot, great action scenes, truly a masterpiece!!! -Daz ![]() This movie was Mind Blowing. I didn't expect much when I rented it but I was mistaken. The leading character, the Hitman guy, carries his acting as if he really is what he depicts in this movie. This is my first time watching a Thailand movie and it was worth it. I loved it. If you have some time to spare, this is an excellent movie. ![]() A film that has it all. This is one of the best films I've seen this year. The story is basically about a professional hit-man (kong) who became deaf and dumb when he was bullied as a child. This for me adds tension to the story because his emotions are portrayed with actions rather than words. Assassinating his victims with no remorse or feeling. The direction (by the Pang Brothers) is superb. I'm sure we will all hear about these guys in the future. Along with a fantastic soundtrack the action is very realistic and very cold at times. If you have ever lived or worked in Thailand you will like this film even more as it touches upon certain moral values placed upon modern day Thai society. For those who have never been to Thailand, just sit back and enjoy a well directed, well written film. -Scott Morris
