The Bastard Swordsman Collection All Content Used With Permission. ![]() "Bastard Swordsman" is way better than "Return of the Bastard Swordsman". That's why I can only give it 4 stars. Pulsating heart technique ahh ok. -Kung Fu Classic Viewer (see my profile) ![]() ![]() I never really liked the two movies. At first the beginning was interesting, just plain interesting. You know, to be honest, I never really liked the whole thing. But the Gungfu was good. ![]() Great movie. Don't miss. ![]() ![]() I expected much less than I got from this. I thought it would be a routine tale of revenge by an embittered outcast, but in fact it is an excellent one of the development of a hero. Having seen some of Norman Tsui's later work, I did not anticipate his facility at this sort of action. This is a very enjoyable and well-made film. -Jeffrey Frawley (see my profile) ![]() "Man, you come straight out of a comic book." And that's what I loved about The Bastard Swordsman series! It's a live action comic book, (not "manga" - it's too colorful to be called that), and Norman Chu takes his role seriously, even when he's wearing a goofy white wig that keeps slightly slipping. This was my first, (but for sure not my last), movie by Tony Liu, and this guy must be on something! It's a freaky-fest all the way through, and a long, strange trip. Plus, the price for the boxset is unbeatable! Thanks HKFlix, you guys rock! -Lex Talionis AKA The New "#6" (see my profile) ![]() Both movies have a similar plotline and parts of them are really over the top, but I loved both of them! Great display of martial arts mixed with a fantasy element. The "Silkworm Style" in particular. These are definitely worth picking up.
