3 stars for DVD quality- mono sound and slightly hazy PAL/NTSC conversion with slight edge cropping of image. Essentially a recording of the BBC Channel 4 broadcast of the film and additional interviews done in 2004. Good effort all round considering Warner's prudishness about not releasing the film in Region 1. A film of this importance needs to be seen. Decent DVD value.

This version of Ken Russell's masterpiece restores all of the cut footage that was removed when the film was released, including the never before seen "Rape Of Christ" sequence.
