I loved "Kill Bill". It was great seeing all the old school actors like Sonny Chiba and Gordon Liu. I was very much interested in seeing QT's inspiration for the film so I finally got around to watching "Lady Snowblood".

With the exception of production values (I was expecting just a little bit more from a studio like Toho), "Lady Snowblood" does not disappoint. A great chambara classic and a great addition to your collection.

Interesting film, don't expect a feminine version of "Baby Cart" because you are going to be disappointed. Tarantino literally copied "Lady Snowblood" part 1 to do "Kill Bill Part 1", so if you want have the original go ahead. If not, rent it.

The Lady Snowblood films are absolute classics, especially the first film. You can clearly see the inspiration that Tarantino had with Kill Bill from the first Lady Snowblood film. Meiko Kaji was brilliant in both installments. You can feel her intensity through the screen. Both films are highly recommended.
