Featuring brilliant performances and the spectacular camerawork of long-time collaborator Michael Ballhaus ("GoodFellas", "Bram Stoker's Dracula", "Gangs Of New York"), Rainer Werner Fassbinder's film inhabits its own dark world, teetering deliriously between jet-black comedy and psychological horror story.
