I highly recommmend this film. Although some may complain that it is a little slow, I think it progresses at a perfect pace, enabling the audience enough time to ponder and completely absorb the plot. Lee Byeong-Heon's protrayal of his character named So In-Woo is impeccable, justly earning him his fame as one of the most recognized actors in korea of his time. The transitions are smooth and many details are carried out cleverly. All in all, this is an absolutely beautiful piece. A terrific film invokes many emotions, and that is what this film does for me. Watch it- you won't regret it.

I hope I'm not spoiling, I really do...

I have to say that I questioned the ultimate message of the film, which could be easily interpreted as "there is no place or refuge for gay love on this earth -- love's refuge is death." However the film was so moving, so heartfelt, so beautiful that I couldn't hold that against it. I'd recommend it to anyone.

I became aware of this film when it was featured at the San Francisco Gay-Lesbian Film Festival. I did not see it at that time, as I generally disappointed by movies that have a "gay theme." In most cases, these movies are depressing or stereotypical and I find them to be counterproductive to advancing acceptance of gay people in society.

Upon hearing a positive review from a trusted friend, I decided to rent the DVD. Not hopeful, I began watching the film and I realized that what I was watching was a treasure to behold. Not a story about being gay or questioning your sexuality; not a story that is filled with sappy references to love: This is a true love story. This is a story that reminds us that the love we feel transcends the physical. It is pure emotion - it is simply pure love.

This has to be one of the best foreign films I have ever seen. Considering the hackneyed trash that comes out of Hollywood, I think that Korea has a real gem here and has to be very proud of its director, its writer and its actors.

I am sure that this film has stirred controversy in Korea. I choose to believe that it will also light a spark in the hearts and minds of those who will now understand that love is love. There is no gay, there is no straight where love is concerned.

I am very appreciative of the filmmakers for having the courage to make this film. I am in awe of the actors as well. I think that Lee Byeong-Heon is a hero.

A unique and quirky film.

First of all, I would recommend reading a synopsis of the film first. It helps to clarify the plot tremendously.

I ended up reading a synopsis halfway through the film because I got confused; but once I did, the film just took on a greater symbolic meaning.

This film is excellent in its use of flashbacks and showing how they relate to the present. Also, the film does a great job in its nuances. There are subtleties to the film that are just so clever, it can't help but make you smile.

Overall, this film is great. A bit slow at times, but if you are patient enough, you are treated to a wonderful romance story with an excellent twist.
