A yakuza member decides to get out of the city, to protect his brother from the yakuza life. They join a construction crew and for awhile life is fine, with love and work aplenty. But the yakuza's life is never retired, as the past catches up with them.

Not my favorite out of the Suzuki Seijun collection, but still enough to keep a fan of his enjoying this yakuza cinema classic.

The life of a yakuza is dangerous. "Tattooed Life" is an great movie. It's a violent picture, and the amazing hack and slash ending is brutal but beautifully done. The story is great and the music was nicely done. The direction of the film was also great. A very well made picture.
