Hello. Just in case you are about to buy the American version of this film, I'm here to tell you that the American version sucks. It's one of those films that Disney took. It's probably the most severely altered film of Disney's. Here are some of the ways it was changed:
  1. The score was changed to something more orchestrated in the American version. The score is an excellent one in the original Hong Kong version, probably one of the best in any Jackie Chan film.

  2. Jackie Chan's character name in changed from "Buck Yuen" to "Jackie Chan" in the US version.

  3. The American reporter in the original version is talking about a breakout of pneumonia in Turkey. But in the US version, she's dubbed with a bad accent, talking about Turkey being a third world country and "left behind" in growing its economy.

  4. The opening credits of the US version show snippets of the film, and kind of give away some of the action sequences.

  5. In the American version, all of the action sequences, except for Jackie Chan's fight with the Turkish swordsman at the boathouse and the hospital fight scene, are cut slightly short.

  6. The meeting between the Korean officials after the shooting in Turkey is cut from the American version, where Park Wong-Jung comes to the consulate.

  7. Jackie Chan's demonstration to the customers at the exercise machine store is cut short.

  8. In the HK version, you see how Jackie Chan new there was a bank robbery going down.

  9. After stopping the bank robbers, Buck Yuen talks to an orphanage buddy of his online. This is omitted from the US version.

  10. One of the biggest differences in this film is that in the original version, Jackie Chan visits the hospital briefly and talks to the doctor, then has lunch with Carmen Wong, the Korean reporter, and then goes to the hospital to see Mr. Park and ask him about his past after he saves his life when Mr. Park is attacked, and Mr. Park talks to him about the game where he must find his money. However, this is cut in a different order in the American version, where instead he comes to the hospital, talks to Mr. Park, then eats at the restaraunt, then goes back to ask Mr. Park about his past, but after Jackie Chan beats up the guys, they added a flatlining sound effect, as if Mr. Park was beat up too much from the thugs when he was attacked, and then it cuts to Mr. Park's funeral.

  11. Many of the lines originally spoken in English were either dubbed to say something different in English, or dubbed into another language in the American version. There are too many to count so I won't list them.

  12. The plot is changed in the American version. In the original version, there is a chemical called "Anthrax II" being made, and criminals who want to buy it wanted it tested, so it was being tested in villages where it wiped out many people and gave them a lung cancer virus. The villagers want the chemical so that it won't be used again, but a drug lord wants it for his buisness. But in the American version, the "Anthrax II" is "Opia Maxa," which is just an addictive drug, and it's a power struggle between Korean and Turkish people for the drug. Stupid plot!

  13. When Buck Yuen is captured, he is violently interrogated by the leader of the Turkish villagers in English. In the US version, some of the violence is cut, and the Turkish man's voice is dubbed into Turkish and Jackie's voice is dubbed to say "I don't understand!"

  14. At the end of the movie, in the original version, Eric Tsang's character, Many Liu (the private detective) explains how Mr. Park was not Buck's father. But in the US, Mr. Park is his father. The explanation in the HK version is much better than the US version.

  15. The outtakes in the American version are dubbed and are supposed to sound spontaneous, but they really suck.

  16. At the end of the movie, after the outtakes, Buck Yuen gets a message from someone who is most likely to be Many Liu, asking him if he wants to do spywork again. Buck is then shown doing spy work in Italy. This is omitted from the American version.
