Quite simply one of the best Godzilla films of all time! Godzilla displays battle-strategy intelligence in this, and in a way foreshadows what is to come in the totally unrelated "GMK". Megaguirus is malevolent, and both monsters have a sense of humor as well. Michiru Oshima's score is fantastic, and this would be expanded upon in "G X MG" & "GODZILLA: TOKYO S.O.S." Highly recommended!

The Millenium Godzilla returns to fight a foe released accidently by man himself. When the Japanese G-Grasper force decides to create the ultimate weapon, "Dimension Tide", to battle The Big G, things do not go according to plan. The device is intended to create an artificial back hole to trap and banish Godzilla in another dimension. Unfortunately, the device releases a prehistoric dragonly, Meganeuron, which proceeds to lay it's eggs in present day Japan. The city is flooded and a large swarm of prehistoric dragonflies are hatched. These dragonflies, which are attracted to Godzilla in order to try and drain his energy, are led by one gigantic Godzilla sized dragonfly, Megaguirus. To make it short, in the end Godzilla ultimately defeats his foe, but then is trapped in a black hole by the Dimension Tide (though we're pretty sure, not for long).

The movie itself is very entertaining and has a wonderful musical score by composer Michiru Ohshima, a first for a woman in a Godzilla film. Another intersting scene in the film is the one in which, after trying to search for Godzilla at sea, Kiriko ends up riding on Godzilla's back while trying to implant a homing beacon on him.

All in all this film is a solid effort and most G-Fans will agree that the plot and musical score make this a fun to watch movie. I highly recommend this film. If you enjoy great kaiju reviews, another great site to read them is at www.digitalmonsterisland.com. I highly recommend this review site, as they are the ones who also recommended shopping at HKFlix to me. Always get these films in the uncut Japanese language with English subtitles. It's the best way to watch, especially with the widescreen region 3 versions. Don't forget to get your all-region DVD players here at HKFlix; I'm glad I did.

This is one of the few Godzilla films that I have seen both the original Japanese and US versions of the film. There is no comparison. The Japanese is far superior. The version that aired on the Sci-Fi Channel this last year [2004] was junk. One of the main problems with Godzilla films that are dubbed into English is that Sony generally ignores the original dialogue and inserts lines to match the actors mouth movements. What you end up with is idiotic lines like "I'll get you....you monster!" It really ruins the feel of these films and is a true misfortune for the American fans.

This is an alternate universe Godzilla story that revolves around the Japanese developing a weapon that creates a black hole to destroy Godzilla. A truly fun film.

GxM may not be a great movie, but at least it's totally entertaining. It's way a lot better than G 2000. Okay, so the plot is bad, and thre's not much story to tell, there's nothing new in it. The pluses of this movie are, it's totally action-packed, and the music, wow! Cool orchestration, especially for the kaiju battles. Then, Gojira himself, defenitely the best goji suit ever!

A fantastic Godzilla film that leaves "Godzilla 2000" in the dust. It's got loads of great moments and Godzilla kicks butt!
